Refund Policy
This Refund Policy explains when and how you can get a refund on Lyvex. Because we sell digital goods — beats, sound kits, stems, sample packs, and services — our policy has to balance fairness to Buyers with fairness to the Producers whose work cannot be returned once it's in your possession.
1. General Rule
All sales on Lyvex are final once the digital files have been downloaded or the license has been delivered. This is the industry standard for beat marketplaces and reflects the fact that a delivered digital file cannot be "returned" in any meaningful sense.
We do, however, make exceptions for cases that are not your fault. See below.
2. When You're Entitled to a Refund
You're entitled to a full refund in any of these situations:
- Duplicate charge. You were charged twice for the same purchase due to a technical error on our side or on our payment processor's side.
- Failed delivery. Payment cleared but the files were never delivered and we're unable to deliver them within a reasonable time.
- Corrupt or unusable file. The delivered file is broken, silent, corrupted, or substantially different from what was described, and the Producer cannot or will not replace it.
- Unauthorized charge. The purchase was made without your authorization. Contact the payment processor listed on your receipt (LemonSqueezy for subscriptions, Stripe for beat sales) and us as soon as you notice.
- Confirmed copyright infringement. The beat you purchased is later confirmed to have been uploaded without the rightful owner's permission. In this case we refund you in full, remove the Content, and withhold the Producer's earnings from that sale.
- Where required by law. If applicable consumer protection law in your jurisdiction requires a refund (for example, EU consumer rules in certain circumstances), we will honor it regardless of the rules above.
3. 14-Day Window for Undownloaded Purchases
If you purchased a beat or kit and have not downloaded any of the delivered files, you may request a refund within 14 days of purchase for any reason. Once you download the files — or trigger the delivery link in the delivered email — the purchase is considered consumed and the general rule applies.
4. What's Generally Not Refundable
- Change of mind after download. You heard the beat, you bought it, you downloaded it — that purchase is final.
- Not fitting your project. The beat was described accurately but you decided to go a different direction.
- Buyer's remorse on exclusive purchases. Exclusives cost more specifically because of what they remove from the Producer's catalog; refunds are not available once the exclusive has been granted.
- Services that have already been performed (mixing, mastering, custom beats, ghostwriting). If a service is cancelled before work begins, the Producer may refund at their discretion.
- Subscription fees (Pro, Label) for billing periods already elapsed. You may cancel anytime; your plan remains active until the end of the current period, and future periods are not charged.
5. How to Request a Refund
Email refunds@example.com with:
- The receipt or transaction ID from LemonSqueezy (subscriptions) or Stripe (beat sales) — found in the confirmation email.
- The beat or item you purchased.
- The reason you're requesting a refund.
- If the file was corrupted or missing, a short description of what went wrong.
We review refund requests within 3 business days. Approved refunds are returned to your original payment method within 5-10 business days, depending on your bank and the processor (LemonSqueezy or Stripe).
6. Payment Disputes
Subscription payments on Lyvex are processed by LemonSqueezy, our Merchant of Record. Beat sale payments are processed through Stripe Connect. The processor that handled your payment is listed on your bank or card statement as the merchant, and they manage any dispute response if you open a chargeback with your bank. We encourage you to contact us first — we'll almost always resolve it faster than a chargeback would.
LemonSqueezy's buyer terms are at lemonsqueezy.com/legal/terms. Stripe's dispute resolution process is at stripe.com/legal/consumer.
7. Effect on Licenses and Producer Earnings
When a refund is issued, the License granted at purchase is immediately revoked and you no longer have rights to use the refunded Content. If the funds had already been settled to the Producer's Stripe payout, the refunded amount will be deducted from their next payout cycle. Confirmed infringement refunds are fully chargeable against the Producer.
8. Questions
If you're unsure whether you're eligible, just ask. Email support@example.com and we'll be honest about what's possible.
This Refund Policy is a general-purpose template. Before operating at scale, Lyvex should have counsel review this policy against the consumer protection laws of its target jurisdictions.
